Abstract:
The soil erosion leaded by the eucalyptus forest rotation behavior in two reservoirs of Guangzhou is studied. The vegetation coverage is interpreted by using remote sensing information in reservoir area of eucalyptus forest. The soil erosion modulus, as well as water and soil conservation effect coefficient is also calculated through vegetation coverage. The experimental result shows that the eucalyptus forest rotation behavior leads to vegetation coverage decreasing from 0.8~0.9 to 0.2~0.3, soil erosion modulus up from 2000~3000 t/km2 to 7000 ~ 14000 t/km2, water and soil conservation effect coefficient decreasing from 0.7~0.8 to 0.3 ~ 0.5. The disturbance period lasts for 11 months causing serious soil erosion problem.
