Abstract:
The coupling situation between urbanization and urban land intensive utilization in China is studied. Based on clarification of the coupling mechanism between urbanization and urban land intensive utilization, the index system of urban intensive land use assessment is proposed. Then the urban land intensive utilization efficiency model and the urbanization and urban land intensive utilization-coupling model are proposed though data envelopment analysis (DEA). The models are used to analyze the data of 31 Provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and China as a whole in the period of 2008-2013. The result shows the urbanization level is still low relative to the urban land intensive utilization level in China. At the same time, the results also show that economic development is the decisive factor for coordinate development of urbanization and urban land intensive utilization in China. The coordinate development of urbanization and urban land intensive utilization in megacities is in the high level stage, but the situation in other regions of China is in an unstable adaption period.
