THE REMOVAL OF THE DEGENERACY FOR ANY ENERGY LEVELS OF HYDROGEN ATOM

  • To seeking the removal of the degeneracy for energy levels of hydrogen atom, it is proposed that by putting the hydrogen atom in electromagnetic field of the same direction, the impact of degeneracy can be studied with the interaction energy which between the electron in hydrogen atom and the external electromagnetic field. Only considering magnetic field, the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions are given and the degeneracy can be partly removed. Again considering electric field, the degeneracy of any energy levels can be removed completely. The energy with given n and m splits to n-│m│ subband, and the neighbor level spacing is 3nea0.
