Synthesis, properties and applications of water-soluble corroles

As a porphyrin analogue, Corroles perform superior chemical, physical and spectroscopic properties owing to their special features. Compared with hydrophobic corroles, water-soluble corroles show distinctive utilization in catalytical and biological applications. This article aims at introducing the development of various kinds of water-soluble corroles. Elaborating synthetic research of pyridyl-substituted corroles and sulfonated corroles are described herein. Their properties and applications are also covered in this paper.
