Preparation of Flower-like Nanostructured SnO2 Particles by Low-temperature Water-bath Method and Their Photocatalytic Activity

  • Flower-like SnO2 nanostructures have been successfully prepared by a water-bath heating method using SnCl2 as the starting materials. Analysis of the formation of lower-like nanostructure indicated the role of PEG400 in the process. The photocatalytic activity was evaluated by photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange (MO) under UV light and xenon lamp, which shows that the prepared flower-like nano-SnO2 can be used as a high effective photocatalyst.
