Abstract
Using artificial sea water (8g/kg) as a control, three kinds of substrates was used to pot-cultivate 1-year-old mangrove of Aegiceras corniculatum for one year in fresh water condition to investigate the effect of cultivation under fresh water condition on the eco-physiological characteristics of Aegiceras corniculatum in different substrates. Results of this study indicate that, though there is a significant effect on eco-physiological characteristics when cultivated in different substrates, Aegiceras corniculatum can grow normally under fresh water condition, as the 1-year-old Aegiceras corniculatum showed physiological characteristics of strong photosynthesis and root activities. The substrates of pond scum bran =1:0 and pond scum bran =2:1 were suitable for the plant cultivation under fresh water condition.
