Abstract
Guangdong Province is rich in zeolite resource. Combined zeolite with other minerals of large specific surface, a modified zeolite with a high capacity of adsorption and ion exchange was made and was use to remove phosphorus from simulated eutrophic water. The experimental results showed that the dephosphorization effect was excellent, which removed phosphorus up to 95.07% from the water with 0.5 mg/L phosphorus in static tests. In dynamic experiments, the adsorption capacity of the mixed material was related to the flow amount of water and its content of phosphorus. The saturated adsorption capacity was 0.26 to 0.29 mg phosphorus per gram of the material. The experimental process and its results, as well as adsorption mechanism of the material, were also discussed in the paper.
