Abstract
A computer-aided landscape plants selection and configuration system is designed to support the user optimizing their plants selection in landscape designing. Its main function is to find out plants best fitting for specific features and environmental factors. The development and implementation of the system are based on the work of consulting relevant literatures on landscape plants as well as information on the major landscape plants. The landscape plants database is established and a man-machine interface is developed as to facilitate usersaccess to the database. Users can login the system and input the selection conditions such as the type of plants, the soil or the temperature which is best for them. Then the system will display the plants that satisfy the conditions which are set before. Biological characteristics, ornamental features, landscape usages or other information of the selected plants can also be shown if you need.
