TWO NEW SPECIES OF THE GENUS NEOHALAIOTREMA (MONOGENEA,ANCYROCEPHALIDAE)

  • Two new species are described, which are of the genus Neohaliotrema Yamaguti,1965, parasiting in the gills of Abudefduf vaigiensis (Quoy et Gaimard,1846) and Abudefduf sexfasciatus (Cuvier et Valenciennes,1830). The central anchors and the copulatory of Neohaliotrema guangdongensis sp.nov. is similar to that of Neohaliotrema bychowskii Zhukov,1976 and N. dicurvilamellatum Li Li, 2000, but different with a C-shaped piece attached on the top of inner root of dorsal central anchors and with a ladle-shaped supporting apparatus, while the supporting apparatus of N. bychowskii is piece-shaped and that of N. dicurvilamellatum is 6 shaped, convoluted inside around both chitinous sides. Neohaliotrema aotouensis sp.nov. is similar to Neohaliotrema gacilis Zhukov,1976 and Neohaliotrema nagibinae Zhukov,1976 in the shape of haptor, but the new species differs from the known species with two sharp-shape raised on the top of inner root of dorsal central anchors and a U-shaped piece attached on the top of inner root of ventral central anchors; middle of dorsal connective plate is protruded downward, ventral connective plate with 2 ear-shaped raised; the copulatory (0.018~0.024 long) is obvious shorter than that of the copulatory (0.045~0.058 long) of N. gacilis and the copulatory (0.030~0.031 long) of N. nagibinae. The supporting apparatus is wide laminated , extended from the base to 1/2~2/3 of whole length of copulatory, the supporting apparatus of N. gacilis is C-shaped in the terminal and the supporting apparatus of N. nagibinae is not easy to be observed.
