Study of the process of emulsion polymerization to prepare amino-silicone emulsion and micro-emulsion

Abstract
Amino-silicone emulsion particle diameter of 10~45m and micro-emulsion particle diameter of 10~35nm,amino value of 0.15~0.3mmol/g,pH value of 6.0~7.0, were prepared by the emulsion polymerization method with D4, N--aminoethyl--aminopropyl methyl dimethoxy silane etc. as raw material. Established favorable conditions to prepare the emulsion are: reaction temperature 70~80℃, reducing the amount of initial water phase, high-speed stirring and improving the dropping speed of oil phase. Established favorable conditions to prepare micro-emulsion are: reaction temperature 80~90℃, high-speed stirring and prolonging the dropping time of oil phase. The effect of the process condition variation on the conversion rate and light transmittance has been studied, and the amino-silicone demulsified from the emulsion (micro-emulsion) was characterized by IR spectrum. The result shows that amino-silicone emulsion and micro-emulsion can be prepared only by changing the process conditions.
