Ascorbic acid Affects the Response to High-light Stress in Arabidopsis Thaliana

  • Arabidopsis thaliana had been selected as the research material in this study, aims to test the highlight stress(1600mol?m-2?s-1) on the echo-physiological characteristics of two gene-type plants(GLDH gene over-expression named as gldh236OE and wild type). The results indicated that the content of total ascorbic acid in the wild type (Col) were reduced, compared with the gldh236OE plants, and the injury under highlight stress is more obvious in the wild type. The chlorophyll (Chl) content of wild type plants showed no different before and after highlight stress while a gldh236OE plant was reduced. Both gldh236OE and wild type leaves showed a significant decrease in Yield and ETR values, however, the decrease rate for wild type was higher. The present results indicated that gldh236OE showed a stronger resistant to the highlight stress than the wild type.
