STUDY ON THE REMOVAL OF TYPIC ENDOCRINE DISRUPTING CHEMICALS DBP IN THE WASTEWATER BY ADSORPTION ELECTROLYSIS METHOD

  • ABSTRACT:Phthalic acid esters(PAEs) are mutagenic, carcinogenic and deforming, seriously disturbing human endocrine system, especially the reproductive system. As one of the most common phthalate esters plasticizers, dibutyl phthalate(DBP) has been listed as priority pollutant by the Chinese Ministry of Environmental Protection due to its high toxicity and accumulation. In this paper, the removal of DBP from wastewater by activated carbons adsorption alone, electrolysis alone and adsorption electrolysis method were studied respectively. Results showed that adsorption electrolysis coupling technology had synergy ability. The removal efficiency of DBP by fruit shell activated carbon adsorption and electrolysis joint for 150min was 62.6%, which was higher than the sum of the removal efficiency by activated carbon adsorption alone(8.6%) and by electrolysis alone(36.8%) for the same reaction time. The adsorption electrolysis mechanism study reveal the mutual promotion relation between activated carbons adsorption and electrolysis, as it was found that electrolysis oxidation was strengthened by activated carbons adsorption, meanwhile, saturated adsorption time was prolonged and the amount of adsorption was enhanced by electrolysis.
