Abstract
Based on measuring the general performance parameters of four granule activated carbons (GACs), including surface area、Methylene Blue value、phenol value and iodine number, the equilibrium adsorption isotherm and adsorption effect for the removal of minim endocrine disruptor di-n-butylphthala (DBP) from aqueous solution have been investigated by using these four different GACs, and the electrochemical regeneration efficiency is measured in room temperature. Results indicated that the four GACs can remove the DBP effectively at 35℃, and the removal rate is over 90%; Maximum adsorption capacity of 52.52 mg/g、29.90 mg/g、159.3 mg/g、147.2 mg/g at equilibrium were achieved for the Coaly carbon1.0、Coaly carbon1.5、nut shell and coconut shell activated carbons respectively. The Freundlich isotherm was found to best fit the experimental data over the whole concentration range. Adsorption capacities of the four different activated carbons have relations with their surface area、Methylene Blue value、phenol value and iodine number, and this supplies reference for choosing right activated carbons to remove phthalates in the water.
