The Characteristics and Mechanism of Place Reconstruction in Rural Revitalization with the Participation of Government, State-owned Enterprises and Rural Community: Taking Huanglongxian Village for Example

Abstract
Focusing on the typical governance model of Beautiful Village Construction with the participation of go-vernment, state-owned enterprise and rural community in the suburbs of metropolis and taking Huanglongxian Vi-llage in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, for example, the characteristics and mechanism of place reconstruction during rural revitalization are discussed through non-participatory observation, in-depth interview and questionnaire survey. The following results are obtained. First, the process of Beautiful Village Construction in Huanglongxian enhances the significance of place. The reconstruction of Huanglongxian not only maintains the original spatial texture and the function of tea production but also strengthens the characteristics of Tea Village through assembling placeless landscape fragments and place marketing. In the meantime, it improves the living environment of the village and the villagers' participation level, which strengthens the villagers' place identity. Second, the co-governance mode of government, state-owned enterprises and rural community is the key to interpreting the local tradition and environment in a new way of planning and construction and to strengthening the uniqueness of Huanglongxian as a tea village. Local government has laid the foundation for the continuation of local characteristics through community empowerment and precise project delivery. Through place marketing and community empowerment, the state-owned enterprises have enhanced the characteristics of Tea Village. Through participation in governance and daily practice, the local community has helped to strengthen the characteristics of Tea Village.
