Comparison of Economic Linkage Capacity between the Urban Agglomerations in the Middle Reaches of the Yangtze River

  • Abstract:Regional economic contact have an important role in the development of regional economy. The urban flow, gravitational model and social network analysis are selected to compare the spatial relations of urban agglomeration with the urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River. The results show that: (1) The concentration of radiation in the Chang-Zhu-Tan Urban Agglomeration and Wuhan Urban Agglomeration is quite similar, and the industrial disadvantage of the urban agglomeration of Poyang Lake is relatively obvious, and the concentration of radiation is quite different from that of the urban agglomeration; (2) The overall economic level of the Chang-Zhu-Tan Urban Agglomeration is the most balance; the Wuhan Urban Agglomeration is the most developed, but the polarization is the most serious; and the urban agglomeration of the Poyang Lake is more loose. (3) The overall economic link between the Chang-Zhu-Tan urban agglomeration shows a balanced trend of the multi-center structure, and the Wuhan Urban Agglomeration has a bimodal structure, the urban agglomeration of the Poyang Lake contact is more loose.
