Abstract
To explore the link between AFP and song of adult male zebra finches,we investigate the effect of castration on electrophysiological properties of their LMAN neurons. Patch-clamp recording is used to record the electrophysiological properties of LMAN neurons. We find that membrane time constant, evoked AP latency, AHP peak amplitude and input resistance decreased after castration. These indicate that castration increases excitability of LMAN neuron and song plasticity.
