Abstract
Abstract: Laboratory tests were used for the thallium-containing FGS wastewater treatment by sole ZTI chelator, cogulaion or oxidation or adsorption enhance ZTI chelator and cogulaion and aid-cogulaion enhance ZTI chelator. Pilot tests were used for the thallium-containing FGS wastewater treatment by cogulaion and aid-cogulaion enhance ZTI chelator. The results showed that, compared with other Dithiocarbamate (DTC) derivatives on the market and sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate, the ZTI chelator have an obvious effect on thallium removal, and it was removed more effectively in a neutral condition. In dealing with thallium-containing FGS wastewater, the method of coagulation + ZTI chelator is better than oxidation or adsorption + ZTI chelator. However, the content of thallium still can not reach the 2 g/L emission standard of Emission Standard of Thallium for Industry Wastewater of local standard in Guangdong Province. Last but not least, the coagulation and aid- coagulation + ZTI chelator method has a good effect both on laboratory and pilot tests. Study shows that the thallium content in effluent was less than 2 g/L and it can still meet standard in pilot tests.
