A STUDY ON THE FOOT FEELING IN GARDEN PATH DESIGN

Abstract: The foot feeling of garden path refers to the tactile experience of the viewers feet, cumulative degree of fatigue on leg muscles and the consequent physical experience and psychological impact when the viewer walks on the pavement. Based on the Humanized Design Principle, this essay elaborates on the three basic concepts of foot feeling of garden path, namely the structures and principles of ground pavement, the length of each stride in walking and the height of each foot lifting. Finally, the double-factor (bottom of the feet and the calf) evaluation method of foot feeling in garden path is proposed, which provides a new perspective and reference dimension for the humanized design and optimization of modern garden path.
