Abstract:
The phosphors with the compositions of Y1-xVO4:Dy3+x and Y0.994-yVO4:Dy3+0.006,Eu3+y were synthesized by a high temperature solid state reaction method. Their crystal structures were checked by X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique. The luminescent properties of Y1-xVO4:Dy3+x phosphors have been investigated. The characteristic emission peaks of Dy3+ due to the transitions of 4F9/26H15/2 at 483 nm and 4F9/26H13/2 at 573 nm were observed in the emission spectra. The optimal concentration of Dy3+ in Y1-xVO4:Dy3+x phosphors is 0.006 (mol ratio). The luminescent intensities of Dy3+ in Y0.994-yVO4:Dy3+0.006,Eu3+y phosphors enhance markedly, synchronously, the intensities of Eu3+ are zero when the concentration of Eu3+ is in the range of 0 to 0.004. It is clear the luminescence of Dy3+ ions were sensitized by Eu3+. When the concentration of Eu3+ over 0.004, the luminescent emissions of Dy3+ and Eu3+ ions for Y0.994-yVO4:Dy3+0.006,Eu3+y phosphors have been monitored, the combination of blue (483 nm), yellow (573 nm) and red (620 nm) emission bands was shown, and white light emission can be observed under UV light excitation.
