Abstract:
A method was established for the determination of phthalate plasticizers in packaging materials by ultrasonic extraction-capillary gas chromatography. The pre-treatment method of the samples and the chromatographic conditions for the analysis were critically examined. The best results were obtained using XC-1 silica capillary column (15 m 0.25 mm 0.33 m) and toluene as extraction solvent. The optimal extraction conditions were with toluene for 30 min with 180 W ultrasonic treatment. The recovery rates were between 96.05% and 105.1% and the relative standard deviations (RSD) were 3700% to 5.750% (n=3). The detection limit ranged from 0.1000 to 100.0 mgL-1. The method is simple, rapid and sensitive, and is particularly suitable for the monitoring of phthalate plasticizers in production enterprises.
