Abstract:
This article focuses on the display represented by electrowetting display pixel unit of complex confined oil/water electrowetting system, by combined the theoretical modeling and experimental,the microflow system of the two-phase electricfluid dynamic characteristics were studied. This paper based on phase field and electrostatic field for two-phase flowoffered by COMSOL,a two-dimensional dynamic simulation model including important parameters,such as,the oil-water viscosity, surface tension, wettability were built up and photoelectric characteristics of the microflow system research.The results show that the dynamic characteristics of the electricfluidin the pixel cell can be simulated successfully by the coupling method of two-phase flow field and electrostatic field.The dynamic viscosity of conducting liquid is positively related to the oil film optical response time, but eventually has little effect on the white area of pixel size; the oil / water surface tension value is positively related with the oil film rupture time and led the movement speed of the oil / water interface.The model makes great significance to understand and predict the dynamic performance of the confinedelectrowetting system and accelerate the development process.
