Abstract: In the process of color images quantization，how to identify palette is the key of quantization algorithm. The sorting is carried on based on the image colored frequency characteristic to the color histogram, and the color images quantization is done in accordance with the principle that of the sampling density of high-frequency is higher than what of the low-frequency. The experimental result indicate that the algorithm is satisfactory in running rate and effection.
