Abstract:
Taking Guangzhou University as an example, the ecological impact analysis of paper consumption of the university was analyzed quantitatively. Firstly, the paper consumption of homework, practice report, experiment report, graduation paper, test paper, textbooks, teaching document, newspaper, magazine and book was investigated. And then, the quantity of paper consumption of Guangzhou University in one academic year was estimated. It was about 278.8921tons. These papers need chop 716.4387hm2 forests. These forests can absorb carbon 2729.34 tons every year. In the end, how to reduce paper consumption was discussed from three sides---textbook, homework and teaching document. The results show that Guangzhou University can reduce 105.2071 tons paper by textbook recycle and non-paper of homework and teaching document. This means that the deforestation area reduces 270.2639hm2. These forests can absorb carbon 1029.71 tons every year.
