Abstract:
Distyrylarylene derivative is one of the most promising blue OLED materials with good property. A new starlike compound was synthesized by introducing the carbazole groups to the distyrylarylene backbone using the Wittig-Horner reactions. Its chemical structure was characterized by 1H-NMR, MS and EA analyses, and the properties were investigated by UV, PL and TGA analyses. The results showed that the compound emitted strong fluorescence and good thermal stability. It had good solubility in organic solvents and film forming ability, and exhibited obvious aggregation-induce demission (AIE) while adding water into its THF solution. The twist structure of the monomer is considered as the key structure for the AIE and phenomena of those carbazolyl distyrylarylenes derivatives. It is suggested that they are potential materials for fabrication in OLED devices.
