Abstract:
The individual fecundity of Xenocypris davidi Bleeker in the Beijiang River and the relationship between the individual fecundity and the biological indexes were studied. The results are summarized as follows. The individual absolute fecundity of Xenocypris davidi with the net weight of 100.8~330.5g and length of 18.2~26.1 cm varies from 35 707~191 917 (average 101 038) eggs. The individual relative fecundity FL ranges from 1 962~7 719 (average 4379) eggs/ cm, and FW ranges from 270~891( average 479) eggs/ g. The individual absolute fecundity F and the relative fecundity FL of body length are significantly correlated to body length, body weight, net body weight, maturity, ovary weight and age. Both the individual absolute fecundity F and the individual relative fecundity FL have no obvious relationship with fullness. The relative fecundity FW of body weight is not significantly correlated to these biological indexes except for maturity, ovary weight and age.
