L-Carnosine was synthesized in a higher yield from L-histidine and ethyl cyanoacetate through two steps: ammonolysis, hydrogenation, the total yield is 62.7％. The product was confirmed by IR、1H NMR、13C NMR and EI-MS. The production technology was simple and operation was easy, and its cost was low, so it can be considered of good prospect for industrial application.
