Abstract: A newly recorded species Grubea australis Rohde, 1986 is reported which is found on the gills of a marine fish, Scomber japonicus Houttuyn, from Shantou, Guangdong Province. The shape and all dimensions of the specimens basically agree with original description except for the amount of small solid genital hooks, the structure of eggs, the development of muscular adhesion fold and the ratio of haptor to total body length. The specimens are deposited in the Lab of Fish Parasitology, School of Life Sciences, South China Normal University.
