High power 2μm Optical Parametric Oscillator Based on MgO:PPLN

  • 摘要: 采用1m激光泵浦周期性极化掺镁铌酸锂晶体光参量振荡器(MgO:PPLN OPO),实现了高功率2m近红外激光输出.采用Nd:YVO4激光器产生的1m激光泵浦MgO:PPLN OPO,在泵浦功率为7.2W时,获得了5.3W的2m激光输出,转换效率为74%.为进一步获得更高功率的红外激光输出,泵浦源改用Nd:YAG激光器,并对其进行优化设计,提高了Nd:YAG激光器的输出功率和光束质量,用其泵浦MgO:PPLN OPO,在泵浦功率为25W时,获得了9.5W的2m激光输出.

     

    Abstract: A high-power near-infrared laser at 2m was demonstrated, the laser was based on quasi-phase-matched periodically poled LiNbO3 optical parametric oscillator(MgO:PPLN OPO).Trough OPO experiments based on MgO:PPLN pumped by a 1m Nd:YVO4 laser, we got 5.3W laser output in the 2m band when the pump power was 7.2W, the conversion efficiency is up to 74%. In order to get higher output power and improve the stability of output laser, we used Nd:YAG laser as pumping source, which was optimized to have higher output power and beam quality. When the pumping power is 25W, the output power of 9.5W was obtained at the wavelength of 2m.
