Abstract:
In order to analyze the carbon sink capacity of forest vegetation and its effect for China to achieve the carbon neutral goals, the field measurement method of sample plots was used in this study based on the forest resource inventory data and the field measurement data of the China Forest Ecosystem Research Network to measure the forest vegetation full carbon sink of Liaoning Province. The results shows that the full carbon sink of the forest vegetation in Liaoning Province play important role in achieving carbon neutral goals: (1) The full carbon sink is 1 233.92×10
4 t during the 9th period, with the contribution of each components of arbor forest vegetation layer (71.78%), other forest vegetation layer (17.94%), forest resource soil layer (10.28%), respectively, which is equivalent to neutralizing 8.76% of carbon emissions from energy consumption of the Liaoning Province. (2)Since the 6th national forest inventory, the full carbon sink of the Liaoning Province had shown an increasing trend, with an increase of 49.71%. (3)According to the carbon sequestration per unit area of arbor forest, the full carbon sink of forests in Liaoning Province will reach 1 692.62×10
4 t, which will offset 9.69% of carbon emissions from energy consumption.
