Abstract:
In order to further grasp the characteristics of urban commuting connections and construct a convenient and orderly pattern of job-residence connections, the mobile phone signaling big data of Guangzhou Unicom users and the social network analysis methods are used to identify the job-residence connection structure in Guangzhou and its relationship with the urban spatial structure. The following conclusions are drawn from the study. First, the urban area of Guangzhou has formed 8 job-residence link zones with the basic characteristics that the nodes within the community are closely connected but the links between nodes in different communities are relatively sparse and that the spatial proximity between the zones is obvious with the general distribution pattern of concentric circles and fans. Second, the main commuter flow directions in the central city of Guangzhou are the north-south direction from the core area to the south of Baiyun District and the east-west direction from the core area to the middle of Tianhe District. These directions coincide with the subway lines and the proportions of short-distance commutation and inner-circle commutation are the highest.
