Abstract:
The traditional distributed mobility management scheme can solve the problem of the centralized mobility management scheme, but when the mobile node switches a tunnel still needs to be established, thereby increasing the network overhead. To solve the problem, a new network-based distributed mobility management (NNDMM) scheme under the software-defined network (SDN) architecture is proposed, taking advantage of the separation of the control plane and the forwarding plane in SDN. The proposed NNDMM scheme makes full use of SDN without putting extra overhead on the controller. The analysis shows that it has obvious advantages over the traditional distributed mobility management scheme in terms of signaling cost and packet delivery cost.
