Abstract:
In order to study the relationship between the metal composition in Mylabris and their localities and varieties, the content and relative composition of seven metal elements in Mylabris were studied by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. The study was targeted at two varieties of Mylabris from eleven areas. The results show that there are abundant elements of Ca, Fe, Mg, K, Na and trace elements of Cu and Mn in all the Mylabris. However, the content of the same metal elements in different varieties and habitats of Mylabris has significant difference, which indicates that the variety and habitat have an important influence on the content of metal elements in Mylabris. This difference can serve as an important indicator of the habitat and variety of Mylabris.
