Abstract:
In order to suppress the sulfation of negative plate effectively, some additives are usually introduced into negative electrode of lead acid batteries. Through pasting and curing, the negative pastes with five different carbon materials are assembled into the batteries. Charge-discharge properties and high rate partial state of charge state (HRPSoC) cycle times are tested respectively. The carbon materials are characterized by BET and SEM. The result show that different kinds of carbon materials have different impact on lead acid battery. The hierarchical porous carbon contains a great deal of micropore with loose and porous structure and high BET surface area, which added cells exhibit remarkable improvement in the cycle performance compared to that of the conventional cells without carbon.
