Abstract:
A home-made frequency domain OCT system with axial resolution of 8 m and the detection depth of 3 mm has been built for skin imaging. According to the scattering characteristics of tissue and the confocal nature of OCT system, tissue scattering coefficient was extracted with a confocal scattering model from intensities of A-scan signal. Intensity curve was fitted from single scattering point spread function model to extract scattering coefficient of different syndrome types of skin wound. The skin scattering coefficient of normal skin and wound skin was measured at each stage. The results show that scattering coefficient could be a quantitative evaluation index of skin wound.
