一种电润湿显示彩色油墨的性能研究

Performance of a Color Printing Ink for Electrowetting Display

  • 摘要: 以Blue染料为对照,对包括Blue染料在内的5种染料进行了柱层析纯化,并采用有机溶剂正十二烷对Blue、Green、Orange、Red和Yellow 5种染料进行稀释,配制成质量分数10%的彩色油墨,测量了5种油墨的CIE色度、粘度、吸收曲线和界面间的润湿性能,最后将彩色油墨应用于自制的电润湿显示器件中,测试不同油墨的光电特性.对比研究发现Green油墨在显示器件像素中的作用效果(开口率约为50%,开关速度5 ms)与对照组Blue油墨相当,作为电润湿显示器件的彩色油墨具有深入研究价值.

     

    Abstract: Five kinds of dyes (blue, green, orange, red and yellow) were purified by column chromatography and formulated at 10% concentration using n-dodecane. The CIE chromaticity, viscosity, optical absorption curve and wettability of the dye solutions were characterized. The electro-optical performance of these dye solutions was investigated in electrowetting display devices. The green ink showed the best performance with the white area fraction of ~50% and the switching speed of 5 ms, which would be further studied for its application in electrowetting displays.
