Abstract:
A laser ionization source was developed, and connected to a timeofflight mass spectrometer (TOFMS). By using copper samples, we optimize operating parameters including ion source vacuum, laser intensity, sample target, interface, and radio frequency of the interface. After optimization, stainless steel and aluminum samples were tested. The results show that the resolution of instrument (full width of half maximum) is 3 000. The instrument has good sensitivity and fast detection speed, and can get a spectrum in one second.
