Abstract:
Polypropylene-grafted-polyethylene glycol copolymers were prepared by coupling of polypropylene wax (PPW) containing maleic anhydride group (MAH) with polyethylene glycol (PEG) by virtue of melting method and were characterized by means of chemical titration, TG, DSC and FT-IR. The experimental results indicated that grafted copolymers were successfully obtained and showed lower melting points in comparison with polypropylene wax. Furthermore, the grafted copolymer had better stability, and PPW-g-PEG (1000) by the reaction of PPW-MAH with PEG-1000 showed lower acid value and higher grafting efficiency
